Aces Up solitaire setup
Aces up solitaire is made of two parts. These are the Tableau and the stock. The tableau is the set of 4 cards that are placed face up on the screen. Initially, the tableau starts with 4 random cards, but as a game of aces up solitaire progresses, more cards from stock accumulate over the 4-card tableau. The remaining cards that are not part of the tableau are stacked in one pile called the stock. The stock is placed face down and is used to deal cards. Remember that aces-up solitaire is played with a single 52-card deck. So, the starting stock will have 48 cards, after the first 4 cards are placed in the tableau.
Aces Up solitaire rules
Aces up solitaire’s rules are simple. Having a good understanding of the rules is critical for making an aces up solitaire strategy that works for you.
- Cards are removed from the tableau when you find two or more cards of the same suit. Once you find cards of the same suit, the card with the lower value is removed. Just click on a card to remove it. If it is a valid move according to the rules, the card is removed.
- For example, if the tableau has 6 of hearts and 9 of hearts, then the 6 of hearts is removed from the tableau because it has a lower value.
- The main goal of the game is to get rid of all the cards on the tableau and leave only aces. The game ends when only aces are left on the tableau.
- The order of precedence in cards goes like this. The highest value card are the aces. It is followed by Kings, Queens, and Jacks. After that, the value for numbered cards increases as the numbers go up. So, a two will have the lowest value and 9 will have the highest value.
- Once a card is removed, it doesn’t go back into the stock. Rather it is removed from the game.
- The game keeps going until the stock runs out. Once there are no cards in the stock, there are no available moves. If you don’t have only aces in your tableau by that time, you have lost the game.
Solitaire Social vs Aces Up
Solitaire Social is a classic Klondike Solitaire with a fun twist, in Solitaire Social you play against another player instead of playing solo. Similar to Aces Up, Klondike Solitaire is played with a single standard deck of 52 cards, but the Jokers are taken out.
The layout in Solitaire Social is different from Aces Up. In Solitaire Social, the tableau consists of 7 stacks of cards. From left to right, the number of cards in each stack increases by one. So the first stack has one card, the second has two and the third has three, and so on.
The remaining cards are placed in the stock, located at the top left of the screen. Your opponent has the same layout as you.
Your objective is to make 4 suits on the foundation slots located above the tableau. Starting from Aces and all the way to Kings. The first person to do this wins the game.
