Huawei Watch GT 7 Pro Review: 15-Day Battery & Big Sport Upgrades! (2026)

The Huawei Watch GT 7 Pro is a solid smartwatch that builds on the strengths of its predecessor, offering a blend of premium build quality, extensive health and activity tracking, and top-tier battery endurance. However, the question remains: is it worth upgrading from the previous model? My personal opinion is that the GT 7 Pro is a great option for users who want top-notch health and activity tracking on a smartwatch that can be worn daily and not just confined to runs and gym sessions. Huawei has once again nailed the hardware, where the GT 7 Pro looks premium and feels the part too. It’s got a plenty bright OLED display, weeks’ worth of battery life and a solid selection of health and activity tracking metrics that should cover aspiring athletes across all kinds of fields.

One thing that immediately stands out is the new design. The Watch GT 7 Pro features a brushed titanium alloy casing, a nanocrystal ceramic bezel surrounding the screen, and a watch strap that tucks under itself for a snugger fit. The design is a step up from the previous model, and the GT 7 Pro feels great on the wrist. However, I would have appreciated a more compact 43 or 44mm version.

The software and features of the GT 7 Pro are familiar, with a card-based interface and a selection of third-party apps. The NFC module allows for contactless payments, but only with Curve Pay, which has to be set up on your phone. The UI is user-friendly, with a home screen, control center, and notifications pane. However, the reply functionality only works on Huawei and Android phones, which is a disappointment.

The health and activity tracking of the GT 7 Pro is reliable, with accurate heart rate and blood oxygen readings, sleep and stress measurements, and advanced metrics like electrocardiogram (ECG) readings. The activity tracking features are impressive, with comprehensive stats for cycling, skiing, snowboarding, and golf. The new AI-XDR algorithm helps fill in gaps when the watch is out of GPS satellite range, resulting in more accurate route tracking.

The battery life of the GT 7 Pro is impressive, with up to 21 days of battery life on light usage. This is more than what Huawei claims, and the watch can be used as a basic timepiece with a bit of notifications and alarms. A full 0-100% top-up takes around 90 minutes.

In conclusion, the Huawei Watch GT 7 Pro is a great option for users who want top-notch health and activity tracking on a smartwatch that can be worn daily. While it has some limitations, such as the NFC payments setup and the third-party app selection, it is an iterative upgrade over the already excellent Watch GT 6 Pro. If you’ve got last year’s model on your wrist, the additional sports tracking features are cool, but not must-haves. However, if you’re using an older Huawei watch or one that needs to be charged daily, then the GT 7 Pro becomes an appealing package.
